The computer does the work. A USB or external drive holds a copy if you want one. Failsafe is software, not physical hardware.

  4. Plug in a USB or external drive you already own. Optional. After Failsafe is downloaded on your computer, an ordinary USB or external drive you already have can hold the copy.
  5. Save a downloaded copy. Keep that downloaded copy on the USB or drive so it can travel with you. The computer still runs it.
  6. Use it offline. Open it on that computer with the network off. Offline AI on a USB you already own.

Software

The model depends on your device.

Failsafe uses an open model that fits the memory on your device, plus a library you download. Answers come from that trained knowledge and those saved pages. They are not live news.

Chosen for your hardware

A smaller device uses a smaller helper. A device with more memory can use a larger catalogued file.

Ask, write, and code

Ask questions from the model and a saved library, draft and rewrite writing, or explain and debug code.

Not a live feed

What you have offline is the model’s trained knowledge and the references you downloaded. Official model cards do not publish a cutoff year, so we do not invent one.

This website does not run the AI. The software page lists the engine and models from the current prototype, and which larger files are only catalogued so far. Device testing is still pending, and this site does not publish benchmark scores.

What can I use Failsafe for?

Draft or rewrite letters, explain or debug code, and ask questions from the model and your saved library. Offline maps and an encyclopedia sit alongside. A USB or external drive you already own can hold the copy. Failsafe for iPhone is coming soon, and the intended app would carry the same modules. Failsafe does not run from the recovery key.

Does it work without the internet?

After you have downloaded it, yes. You need a connection once to get the application, the model, and the library. Then you can turn the network off and still open Failsafe on that computer.

Do I need a special USB? Do you ship one?

No. Failsafe is a software download. You can save it to a USB or external drive you already own. We do not ship a drive or any physical product.

What about Offline Maps and Offline Encyclopedia?

They are part of Failsafe, alongside offline AI. This page does not include map data or encyclopedia articles, and it invents no citations.

What is the recovery key?

Keep this key. Recover your license and download Failsafe again when you’re online, even if you forget your password. A downloaded copy on your computer or drive keeps working offline. The key on this page is a public sample. It is not a credential.

Can I add the ticket to Apple Wallet?

The Wallet preview button opens a Failsafe picture of how a phone record could look. It does not add a pass to Apple Wallet, and this page does not issue a signed pass.

Can I sign in?

Sign in opens a sample account so you can see downloads and your recovery key. No password is collected, and no real account is created.

Does this website install Failsafe?
